At the 65th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, we discussed the role of Film Commissions in the growth of the film industry in Europe. Venia Vergou (EUFCN Manager) moderated the panel with representatives from the Apulia Film Commission (Italy), Oslo Film Commission (Norway), Hellenic Film Commission (Greece), and Film Office – Central Macedonia (Greece), who shared best practices and the challenges of supporting audiovisual production.
The event was greeted by Vicky Hatzivasileiou (Vice Governor for Tourism, Region of Central Macedonia) and Leonidas Christopoulos (EKKOMED-Creative Greece). Special guest Victoria Hislop, Festival Ambassador, shared her views on the role of cinema in tourism and cultural development.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Region of Central Macedonia and the European Film Commissions Network (EUFCN), with support from the Hellenic Film Commission.
