“Central Macedonia: A promising filming destination”
Throwback on our successful initiative for film tourism at this year’s Philoxenia 2024.
Our distinguished guest was actress, director, and writer Mimi Denissi, who warmly spoke about showcasing the history and cultural heritage of Central Macedonia through her upcoming TV series “Madre.”
“Madre,” destined for Netflix, is set to begin filming in Central Macedonia in the spring of 2025.
A special guest at the event was archaeologist Dr. Giorgos Skiadaresis, Deputy Head of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Halkidiki and Mount Athos. He presented the role of audiovisual productions in attracting visitors to culturally significant destinations in Halkidiki.
The event was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Tourism Elena Rapti and the Vice Governor of Tourism in Central Macedonia Vicky Hatzivassiliou,
