Chiliadou Beach winning the EUFCN Location Award 2022 for “Triangle of Sadness”
Most of the film was shot on Chiliadou Beach. Ruben Ostlund’s “Triangle of Sadness” went on to win the Palme D’Or in the 2022 Cannes Competition and is currently nominated for numerous BAFTA and Oscar Awards.
EUFCN Location Award 2022
The EUFCN Location Award is the annual prize for European filming locations, organized by European Film Commissions Network (EUFCN).
Each year, EUFCN members have the opportunity to submit one location from a film or a TV series shot in their country and released that particular year.
Greece’s nomination, which was submitted and supported by the Hellenic Film Commisdio/Greek FilmCentre, was again among the 5 finalists for the EUFCN location award, with Hiliadou Beach in Evia, where “The Triangle of Sadness” by Ruben Östlund was shot.
The film is awarded the Palm D’ Or (Festival de Cannes) and it is nominated for 3 Oscars.
