Athens to Host the 39th European Film Awards in January 2027
For the first time in Southeastern Europe, the European Film Awards will be held in Athens. This follows a successful proposal by the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Centre (HFAC)—Creative Greece, supported by the Ministries of Culture, Economy and Finance, and Tourism.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), preceded by the Mayor’s Night reception at the Zappeion Megaron on the eve of the event.
Through this collaboration, Greece is established as a central hub for European cinema. The year leading up to the ceremony will celebrate Greek and European cinema, strengthening the country’s image as an international cultural destination.
