The biggest music documentary film festival in the world returns to Thessaloniki, where it starts today, May 5, 2022, at the city’s Port (Warehouse D), with unique music stories. The opening screening is the award-winning music documentary “Summer of Soul” (…OR, WHEN THE REVOLUTION COULD NOT BE TELEVISED), directed by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, which examines the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival, one of the most popular music festivals in the history of the US. More than 300.000 people attended live performances of legendary musicians, such as B.B. King, Mahalia Jackson, Sly and the Family Stone, Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, and many others. The screening is at 21.00 (Warehouse D, “Tonia Marketaki” cinema).
