The Regional Governor of Central Macedonia Mr Apostolos Tzitzikostas was head of a business mission to Montreal and Toronto, in the framework of his official visit to Canada in November 2023.
Mr. Tzitzikostas met with officials, representatives of import companies and travel agencies, as well as film companies and executives of the Greek diaspora in Canada, with the aim of attracting investments from Canadian companies in Central Macedonia, promoting Macedonian agri-food products so that to increase their exports to the Canadian market, the promotion of the tourism product of Central Macedonia and the presentation of the comparative advantages of theRegion with the scope to attract audiovisual productions.
The Regional Governor’s visit to Canada concluded with meetings with investors from Canada, such as with the owner of “TriBro Sudios” Mr Peter Apostolopoulos, with whom he discussed the possibility of using the infrastructure created by the Region in Central Macedonia for filming foreign audio-visual productions. Mr Tzitzikostas also referred to the services provided by the regional Film Office-Central Macedonia to all film companies, in order to carry out their productions in Thessaloniki and Central Macedonia, which has now been established as a competitive spot on the world map of audio-visual productions.
